The iEV7 is a fully electric B-segment sedan under JAC Group (formerly JAC Motors), primarily targeted at the commercial fleet market (e-hailing and taxis) and driving academy training fleets. The model is offered in two main versions: the iEV7L (Standard Edition) and the iEV7L Driving School Edition, with the 2024 model year currently on sale.

Positioned as an entry-level pure electric compact sedan from JAC Group, its key selling points include an NEDC-rated range of 320 km, a practical five-door five-seater cabin layout, and the Driving School L Edition purpose-built for driving academies (equipped with an instructor-side dual brake pedal, secondary horn, auxiliary rear-view mirrors, etc.). The 2024 lineup is available in three variants: Classic Standard Edition (RM116,500), Classic Extended Edition (RM118,500), and Driving School L Edition (RM120,500). Dimensions measure between 4,320 mm and 4,455 mm in length, with a 2,500 mm wheelbase.
The entire range is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 45 kW (61 PS) and 150 Nm of torque, with a rated top speed of 120 km/h. Energy is stored in a 33.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack (utilising Huating/Gotion High-tech cells), delivering an NEDC-rated driving range of 320 km. DC fast charging takes 45 minutes (30% to 80%), while AC slow charging takes approximately 12 hours.
Ride and handling is managed by a front MacPherson strut independent suspension and a rear torsion beam non-independent setup. Aside from the Driving School L Edition which comes with an electronic parking brake (EPB), other variants are fitted with a conventional manual handbrake.
Standard kit across the range includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, a 7-inch central infotainment touchscreen, 4G T-Box telematics connectivity, OTA software updates, and smartphone remote app support. It is also equipped with a PM2.5 cabin air filter and electrically heated wing mirrors, but makes do with only two speakers. Notably, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and cruise control are absent across all variants. The Driving School L Edition adds dedicated driving test equipment, including a Subject 2 test mode one-touch toggle button, an instructor-side horn, an auxiliary passenger foot brake, and secondary rear-view mirrors.
The iEV7 is a classic fleet-focused offering—the standard variant caters to the e-hailing sector, whereas the driving school variant is tailored specifically for driving institute fleet purchases. Amid intense price competition in the RM100,000–RM150,000 EV passenger car market, its modest 45 kW output, lengthy 12-hour AC charge time, and omission of ESP make it less appealing to private retail buyers. Key competitors include the BYD Qin PLUS EV and Buick Velite 6. Thanks to its low running and maintenance costs alongside purpose-built fittings, the iEV7 makes strong sense for commercial fleet operations, though individual buyers will have to compromise on standard equipment levels.
